## Frequently asked questions

What is Strategic Profitability Architecture?

It's KIT's framework for identifying, strengthening, expanding, and defending the specific position — a combination of value, cost structure, and customer relationship — that makes your growth durable and hard for competitors to replicate. It sits at the intersection of strategy, competitive positioning, and business economics, not marketing execution or generic management consulting.

How is this different from a growth agency or marketing consultant?

Growth agencies start with a metric to move — more leads, lower CAC, higher conversion. KIT starts with a position to build. We're not a substitute for growth or marketing execution; we work upstream of it, so the tactics your team already runs are reinforcing a position that's actually worth defending, instead of compensating for one that isn't.

Who is this actually for?

B2B SaaS companies roughly in the $5M–$100M+ ARR range, with established product-market fit and a real, retained customer base — but where growth is starting to cost more than it used to: rising CAC, tightening margins, competitors closing the gap, or a position that's gotten harder to articulate at the board level.

Who is this not for?

Pre-product-market-fit startups, or companies simply looking for their next growth tactic or channel. If the honest answer to "what position are we defending?" is that you don't have a clearly differentiated position yet, that's a different (usually earlier-stage) conversation than the one KIT is built for.

What happens after I request the Strategic Position Assessment?

You'll receive your strategic position analysis by email — no call required to start. It's a way to get an initial, honest read on where your position is under pressure before deciding whether a deeper Strategic Position Review makes sense.

What happens on the discovery call?

It's a short, low-commitment conversation — not a sales pitch. We talk through where your growth is starting to feel harder to sustain, and give you a direct answer on whether a deeper engagement is likely to be worth it. If it isn't, we'll tell you that too.

What does an engagement actually look like?

Every engagement moves through the same cycle: Identify the position you actually own economically, Strengthen its differentiation and margin structure, Expand it into adjacent ground without diluting it, and Defend it against imitation and disruption. Scope and timeline depend on where your company is in that cycle today — some engagements focus on one phase, others run the full loop.

Do you replace our internal growth or marketing team?

No. KIT works at the strategic layer above execution — we're often brought in alongside an existing growth, product, or marketing team, not instead of one. The goal is to make sure their execution is pointed at a position worth defending.

How long does it take to see results?

Strategic work moves on a different timeline than a marketing campaign. Clarity on your position and where it's under pressure typically comes early in an engagement; the compounding effects on margin, retention, and pricing power — like the shift from 71% to 80% gross margin in our NorthBridge CRM case study — play out over the following quarters as the position is strengthened and defended.

Is our information kept confidential?

Yes. Strategic position work necessarily involves sensitive information about your economics, competitive standing, and customer relationships. Confidentiality is standard practice, and formal agreements are put in place before any deeper engagement begins.
